13 years and counting, but not for much longer.

Connacht Rugby outhalf Jack Carty today confirmed his plans to retire from professional rugby at the end of the season.

Carty established his name in the west after making his Connacht debut in 2012 against Glasgow Warriors. Over the course of his career, he started more than 80% of his games for the province, underlining his importance to the side.

The number 10 also made a significant impact on the scoreboard, scoring 21 tries and kicking over 200 penalties during his time in green.

Despite his consistency at provincial level, Carty earned just 11 caps for Ireland, with established figures such as Johnny Sexton ahead of him in the pecking order.
